I Earned $1.1M in 2021 as a SaaS Seller. Here’s The Counterintuitive System I Used That Ditched Hustle Culture, Helped Me Close Bigger Deals Faster, And Protected My Health.
The key to thriving was developing a personal operating system that prioritized my human side
Before Covid, I was constantly traveling…practically on a plane every week meeting with prospects and clients trying to move the needle on massive deals.
Even though I was successful (from the outside) at closing $11M in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) over a 24 month period, I was constantly tired, eating poorly, drinking a lot, and often irritable (not so successful on the inside).
After Covid hit, I got into a powerful routine where I was able to close $14.1M in ARR in just 10 months (a 28% increase in sales in less than half the time, surpassing my annual sales quota by 4x), all while averaging 7 hours of sleep a night, no travel, and making a quantifiable boost in my overall mood!
Adopting a human-first approach using the 4S’s
I changed things up with a Human First, Professional Second approach.
To do that, I used a simple tracker I created to measure the “4 S’s” to find what impact they made on my sales performance.
Sleep: I needed to be well-rested, similar to how a world-class athlete needs to be ready for intense competition. Measure energy.
Strain: To understand what boosted or drained my energy, I needed to understand how my time was being spent. Measure time.
Skills: To keep leveling up each day, I needed to apply my focus on concentrated deep work. Measure attention.
Satisfaction: When I’m a happier human, I can be more present in my personal life. That in turn helped my performance. Measure mood.
Staying consistent was key
When this became a daily habit, two things started happening:
- The process started to feel like a fun game
- I started focusing less on the outcomes and more on my inputs
I call this system myThrive Space™, and I am now sharing it to the world. You can grab a free copy of V1 HERE and try for yourself.
