3 Things I Wish I Knew as a Young Seller
With graduation season upon us, a new crop of future sellers are on the verge of entering the workforce. It is truly an exciting time to be entering the industry; the digital age has created new and numerous opportunities for creative sellers who think differently.
I have also found myself reflecting on my own journey in sales these last 20+ years.
I have experienced real lows — such as not having enough cash to pay the subway fare to an early job — and even greater highs — including closing multiple 7- and 8-figure strategic SaaS deals with Fortune 50 level brands.
While I plan to write about all of these topics and more in the coming months, I’d like to focus this article on the lessons I wish I knew as a young seller.
While I picked up these kernels of wisdom through my personal experiences (common in sales vs the formal education of other professions — doctor, attorney, designer, etc.), I hope passing them along will help others on your own sales journey.
